A second Tomas configuration joins the lineup with Article NES-331 (Fig. 85A), an alternate geometry for lower canines, premolars, and molars that complements NES-329 within NextEdge Surgical LLC's catalog. The “A” designation signals a variation on the base Fig. 85 pattern, giving clinicians a choice between two Tomas-style beaks for the same broad tooth range across the lower arch.
Fit is never purely a matter of specifications; two instruments built for the same purpose can still seat differently depending on the exact crown shape or the operator’s own technique, and that difference can matter in day-to-day extraction work.
That choice becomes especially valuable in practices where more than one clinician shares the same instrument tray, since preferences for beak feel can vary meaningfully from one operator to the next even when the intended use case is identical. The alternative geometry gives the team another practical way to match the instrument to the case without changing the overall workflow.
