Description

3.0 MM
The Bein elevator is one of the most widely used patterns in extraction practice, and for good reason. Its straight shaft and slightly curved working tip are designed to seat cleanly into the periodontal ligament space and transmit controlled apical force with minimal lateral pressure on adjacent structures.
The NES-866 is a Bein elevator with a 3.0 mm blade, offered as part of the dental root elevators collection at NextEdge Surgical. At this blade width, it covers the most common indication range for the Bein pattern: single-rooted teeth, narrow premolar roots, and anterior extractions across both arches.
The 3.0 mm tip seats precisely into the mesial or distal aspect of the periodontal ligament space without overloading the crestal bone on either side. From there, a measured rotational stroke progressively disrupts the ligament fibers, creating the mobility needed for clean forceps application or continued elevation. The Bein geometry supports this motion naturally because the curvature of the working end maintains blade-to-root contact through the arc of the stroke rather than skating off the surface.
This is also an instrument that works well in confined spaces. The narrow 3.0 mm footprint makes it practical around crowded anterior teeth, near recently extracted adjacent sockets, and in any site where interproximal clearance is limited. Clinicians who use the Bein pattern routinely tend to keep it as the first instrument placed, using it to begin ligament separation before moving to wider elevators or forceps.
Manufactured from German stainless steel, the NES-866 tolerates repeated autoclaving without corrosion or tip deformation. It holds its edge and its shape across extended clinical use, making it a reliable long-term addition to any extraction tray. Order the NES-866 today.
