The upper-arch counterpart to NES-280, Article NES-281 (Fig. 400/300, 165 mm), rounds out the universal root retrieval line that Next Edge Surgical LLC offers for maxillary root work, with a length tuned specifically for that arch's geometry.
At 165 mm, this instrument is 5 mm longer than its lower-arch sibling. This small but meaningful difference accounts for the slightly greater reach typically needed when working in the upper arch. The Fig. 400(300) beak profile closes securely around upper root fragments across a range of positions, sparing the operator from switching instruments every time the extraction moves to a different tooth.
Precision matters as much as reach here. A controlled, well-fitted grip reduces the chance of applying excess force to root structure that may already be compromised by decay or a prior crown fracture, supporting a cleaner overall retrieval.
Handle comfort has been built in for extended use, and the surgical-grade stainless steel construction resists corrosion through years of repeated sterilization cycles.

- 165mm length matched to maxillary working distance
- Fully autoclavable, corrosion-resistant construction
A staple addition to any extracting forceps collection built around upper arch root retrieval for general and surgical practices alike.
