Fig. 11L
The NES-912 is a Winter pattern elevator, Fig. 11L, sharing the cross-bar handle design that defines the Winter series while carrying a different blade angle than the Fig. 1 variants. This figure number is part of our dental root elevators range, where the Winter pattern as a whole is built around a T-shaped grip that lets the operator generate substantially more leverage than a standard palm-held handle allows.
Within the Winter series, different figure numbers correspond to different blade angulations suited to specific tooth positions and impaction orientations. A Fig. 11 blade angle is typically reached for when the tooth’s position calls for a different line of engagement than a Fig. 1 blade provides, which is why practices working through a range of impaction types tend to keep more than one figure number on hand rather than relying on a single Winter elevator for every case.
The cross-bar handle itself performs the same function across every figure number in the series: it distributes rotational force across the fingers and palm, letting the operator apply sustained pressure without straining the wrist during longer or more resistant extractions. That mechanical advantage matters most with impacted teeth, where standard elevators sometimes can’t generate enough force comfortably.
Because Winter elevators are built for demanding cases, controlled technique still matters as much as the leverage itself. Clinicians managing impacted third molars or firmly retained teeth will find the NES-912 a useful addition to a graduated Winter set.
