The NES-889 is a 4 mm Bein Curved elevator, offering the same triangular blade mechanics found across the Bein family but routed through a curved shank rather than a straight one. Among our dental root elevators, the curved configuration exists to solve an access problem: some tooth positions and adjacent anatomy don’t line up well with a straight instrument, and forcing the issue can mean an awkward wrist angle or reduced control.
The curve changes the path the blade takes to reach the ligament space without changing what happens once it’s there. The triangular cross section still rotates and expands against the root surface, generating the same mechanical advantage a straight Bein pattern relies on. What differs is how naturally the operator’s hand can align with the working tip, particularly in curved arch segments or areas where a straight shank would need to cross over other structures.
