Root tip removal after a fractured extraction calls for a different mechanism than straightforward elevation, and the Cryer pattern was built specifically for that job. The NES-832 brings an 11 mm blade to this pattern, oriented to the right side for cases where blade direction determines whether the fulcrum lands where it should.
Where a Bein or Luxator blade tends to work along the ligament space, the Cryer elevator is designed to use a wheel-and-axle motion, rotating against an adjacent tooth or interseptal bone to lift a fractured root tip out of its socket. That mechanism makes it particularly effective on mandibular molars, where a root has sheared below the crown and forceps no longer have anything to grip.
