The NES-614 features a triangular, pointed blade set at an angle to the shank. It is built for multi-rooted tooth extractions. The blade tip is inserted into the empty socket of one root and rotated. This generates the leverage needed to dislodge the remaining root without excessive force.
Clinicians who work with a paired set of root elevators instruments will know the Cryer well. It performs a role that straight or curved elevators cannot replicate on multi-rooted cases.
