Dental Surgical Chisels for Bone Splitting

4.5 mm
Rounding toward the upper end of this graduated chisel series, the NES-3513 offers a 4.5mm blade suited to substantial ridge expansion work, where a wide, confident bite of bone is needed rather than the fine, incremental control that defines the narrower sizes earlier in this lineup.
At this width, the chisel is typically brought in after initial splitting has already been established with a narrower instrument, or used directly on ridges thick enough to accommodate a broader blade from the start. Either way, the goal shifts from precision positioning toward efficient, confident widening of an already-directed split.
4.5mm blade width for substantial ridge expansion
Typically used after initial splitting with narrower chisels
Consistent edge geometry across the entire size range
Stainless steel construction, fully autoclavable
Among the maxillofacial surgery instruments used in ridge preparation and implant site development, having this wider option available alongside the full graduated set means practitioners can move fluidly from fine initial control to broader expansion within one consistent chisel family.
Built from surgical-grade stainless steel, this chisel withstands repeated mallet-driven use and sterilization cycles, keeping its blade width and edge sharpness dependable across demanding surgical schedules.
