Partially erupted molars present a particular isolation challenge, since the exposed tooth surface is limited and often surrounded by tissue that hasn’t fully receded. The NES-3294 (Fig. 14T) addresses that with serrated, deeply festooned beaks built specifically for this stage of eruption.
The deep festoon contour follows the gumline closely, letting the clamp find purchase on a partially erupted tooth even when less surface area is available to grip than on a fully erupted molar. The serrated edge then holds that grip securely once seated.
