Rochester-Carmalt Forceps – Haemostatic Forceps Maxillofacial

Built for heavier vascular pedicle clamping, the Rochester-Carmalt Forceps (NES-2852) spans 16cm through 23cm, with the longer sizes available in curved or straight jaws. This pattern is recognized for its longitudinal serrations, which run along the jaw’s length rather than across it, giving a distinctly different grip style from cross-serrated hemostats.
That longitudinal serration pattern distributes clamping pressure evenly along a longer tissue segment, making the Rochester-Carmalt particularly effective for controlling larger vascular bundles or broader tissue pedicles rather than fine, isolated vessels.
Within our maxillofacial surgery instruments collection, this pattern fills a role that finer mosquito or Kelly-style forceps aren’t built for.
Offering both curved and straight jaws at the longer 18cm and 23cm lengths gives practitioners flexibility to match access angle to the specific surgical field, while the 16cm and 20cm options provide a shorter, more contained reach.
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, these forceps withstand the mechanical demands of heavier clamping tasks and repeated sterilization cycles, holding their serration precision reliably over time.
