Where the 11/12 curls toward the mesial root, the 13/14’s terminal shank bends the opposite direction, so between the two patterns a clinician covers every proximal surface on a posterior tooth without contorting the wrist.
The NES-1570 is that 13/14 pattern in a solid Ø 6mm handle, 170mm long, matching the rest of Next Edge Surgical’s solid-handle Gracey range. Solid handles run thinner in diameter than hollow variants but carry noticeably more weight in the palm, which some clinicians find translates directly into steadier root-surface tactile sense during meticulous debridement, especially on patients whose calculus has built up beneath the gumline over time.
