The lid changes how this holder functions day to day: instruments stay covered and protected during storage and transport, not just organized; dust, debris, and accidental contact during handling are kept away from bur tips; the enclosed design also makes it easier to move a fully loaded holder between the sterilization area and the operatory without instruments shifting loose.
Thirty-six holes is enough capacity for a solid working set of small burrs without pushing into bulk-storage territory, keeping the holder practical for daily chairside use rather than long-term bulk inventory.
