Orthodontic Pliers – Standard Ligature Cutter TC. Gold – NES-3793

Some instruments earn the word “standard” because they’re the one every practice ends up reaching for most often. The Article NES-3793 Standard Ligature Cutter, T.C. Gold, is exactly that kind of tool, purpose-built for cleanly trimming ligature ties during routine archwire adjustments.
Function: cutting ligature wire during routine adjustments
Tip material: tungsten carbide (T.C.) with gold coating
Body: stainless steel
Sterilization: fully autoclavable
Ligature changes happen at nearly every adjustment visit, which puts real demands on a cutter’s edge over time. The gold T.C. insert is built to withstand that frequency, staying sharp through repeated use rather than dulling and crushing wire after a few dozen cuts.
Because this cutter is scoped specifically to ligature material rather than trying to double as a pin cutter or general wire tool, its jaw geometry can stay optimized for one job: a clean, controlled cut on ligature ties without excess bulk or compromise.
Built on a stainless steel body, the NES-3793 is fully autoclavable, ready to move from one ligature-change appointment to the next after standard sterilization.
For everyday orthodontic adjustment work, a dedicated standard ligature cutter like this one remains one of the most consistently used instruments on the tray.
