Description

Torque doesn’t announce itself the way a bend does; it’s a twist along the wire’s own axis, and getting it right by hand is genuinely difficult without the right instrument.
The Article NES-3768 Torquing Plier exists to make that twist controlled and repeatable, applying rotational force to archwire so practitioners can influence root positioning during treatment.
Unlike bending pliers, which reshape a wire’s path, a torquing plier works along the wire’s length, gripping it securely enough to transmit a clean rotational force without letting the wire slip or the grip mar the surface.
That distinction matters clinically: torque corrections affect how a tooth’s root sits in the bone, a far more subtle and consequential adjustment than a simple positional bend.
Because torque needs to be applied consistently the same amount, at the same point, ideally producing the same result each time, a dedicated torquing plier gives practitioners a repeatable mechanical advantage that freehand manipulation simply can’t match.
That consistency becomes especially valuable across multiple appointments where a torque correction needs to build progressively.
Built from stainless steel, this plier is fully autoclavable and designed to keep its grip precision through repeated sterilization, an important factor given how much torque accuracy depends on that grip staying dependable over time.
For practices doing finishing-stage root positioning work, a torquing plier remains one of the more specialized but genuinely indispensable tools on the tray.
