Mayo Curved – Gum Scissors

The curved counterpart to the straight Mayo pattern, the NES-2689 brings the same robust, heavy-duty construction to a curved blade, available in 14cm, 17cm, and 23cm lengths. That curve gives practitioners better access around contoured tissue or structures, where a straight blade would struggle to maintain even contact throughout the cut.
Like its straight sibling, this scissor is built for heavier cutting tasks rather than fine precision work, making it well suited to general tissue division and thicker suture material. Within our maxillofacial surgery instruments lineup, the curved Mayo pattern pairs naturally with the straight version, giving practices full coverage for both direct and contoured heavy-duty cutting.
Three length options: 14cm, 17cm, 23cm
Curved blade for improved access around contoured tissue
Robust construction suited to heavier cutting tasks
Stainless steel build, fully autoclavable
The curve also offers a visibility advantage during cutting, keeping the shaft angled slightly out of the direct line of sight to the cutting point, useful when working in a busy or crowded surgical field.
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, the Mayo Curved withstands repeated sterilization cycles and daily heavy use, remaining a dependable, general-purpose instrument for practices that need reliable cutting strength across varied field depths.
