Where the NES-1629 and NES-1630 follow the Towner-Jaquette lineage, the NES-1631 is ground to the Fig. H5/33 pattern — a distinct sickle scaler geometry rather than a variation on that same family. The blade still carries the signature sickle profile: a pointed tip, two converging cutting edges, and a triangular cross-section, but the shank angle and curvature are set up differently, which changes how the instrument seats against tooth surfaces and how it’s typically held during a stroke.
