Dental Curette – Nevi 3 Posterior – NES-1698

Open-flap periodontal surgery calls for a different kind of curette than routine scaling does, and the NES-1698 Nevi 3 posterior curette is built specifically for that heavier surgical context. Where closed-technique curettes favor a slim, flexible blade for working blind under tissue, the Nevi pattern carries a broader, more rigid blade designed for direct visual access once a flap has been reflected and the root surface is fully exposed.
The “3” designation refers to the specific blade angulation in the Nevi series, set up to reach posterior root surfaces and furcation areas that a straighter blade would approach at the wrong angle. That angulation lets the operator remove residual calculus, diseased cementum, and granulation tissue in long, deliberate strokes without repositioning the wrist awkwardly mid-procedure.
Because it’s built heavier than a standard hygiene curette, it holds its edge through more aggressive root debridement without flexing or losing contact with the surface. The tip also functions as a practical diagnostic instrument during surgery, letting the clinician feel for residual roughness before closing the flap.
Forged from surgical stainless steel in one piece, it autoclaves reliably and resists the wear that comes with repeated use in periodontal and osseous surgery cases. A solid addition for periodontists and oral surgeons who need a dedicated posterior surgical curette rather than repurposing a hygiene instrument for procedures it wasn’t designed to handle.
