The NES-870 is a Gartner pattern root elevator with a 3.5 mm tip, built for clinicians who need a finer instrument for isolated root fragment retrieval. Among surgical root elevators, the Gartner pattern is generally reached for once a tooth has already been sectioned or fractured and only a small remnant remains to be removed from the socket.
Working with a small, isolated fragment calls for a different approach than elevating an intact root.
