Not every Seldin elevator needs a left or right designation, and the NES-837 is built as the universal version of the pattern. At 3.5 mm, item code NES-837 gives clinicians the same thin, tapered blade the Seldin design is known for, without committing to one side of the arch.
The Seldin blade favors a narrow profile over width, letting the tip work into the periodontal ligament space along the mesial or distal surface of a root rather than only from the buccal or lingual face. Where the paired left and right versions optimize for a specific approach angle, this universal 3.5 mm blade gives the operator flexibility to reposition and use it from either direction as the case calls for it. That makes it a practical single instrument for clinicians who don’t want to keep a matched pair on the tray for every procedure.
