Orthodontic Pliers – Bending plier. In order to skirt molares bands. With grooved. Recommended wire. 016”, 018” and 022” 0.41mm, 0.46mm – NES-3780

Fitting a molar band cleanly around the tooth means shaping wire that skirts the band’s contour precisely, and that’s the specific job of the Article NES-3780 Bending Plier. Its grooved jaw is built to skirt molar bands accurately, supporting recommended wire sizes of .016″, .018″, and .022″ (0.41mm, 0.46mm, and 0.56mm).
Key specifications:
Function: bending plier for skirting molar bands
Jaw design: grooved for accurate wire seating
Wire range: .016″ / .018″ / .022″ (0.41mm / 0.46mm / 0.56mm)
Material: stainless steel, fully autoclavable
The grooves in the jaw aren’t decorative; they help seat the wire in a consistent position before the bend is formed, which matters when the goal is a smooth contour that follows the band’s shape rather than an uneven series of small kinks.
Because it’s calibrated to three specific wire diameters rather than a broad, undefined range, this plier suits practices and labs that work with standard molar band wire sizes and want a dedicated tool rather than adapting a general bending plier for the job.
Stainless steel construction gives the plier the durability to handle daily banding work and repeated sterilization cycles without losing its grooved jaw precision.
For orthodontic practices doing regular molar banding, a dedicated skirting plier like this one turns a fiddly hand-shaping task into a controlled, repeatable step.
