SPH China Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) is a dental material composed of fluoro-aluminosilicate glass powder and polyacrylic acid liquid, used for restorative procedures like filling Class III and V cavities, luting crowns, and as a base or liner under other restorations. It provides a good marginal seal, adheres chemically to tooth structure, and releases fluoride to help prevent new decay. The cement offers a balance of good mechanical properties, including high compression strength, and practical handling characteristics like extended working time and easy seating.
