Fig. 3
Big ridge to reshape. Not much time. That’s when NES-1876 earns its spot on the tray.
Fig. 3 is the widest blade in the FEDI periodontal chisel set. It’s built for coverage — sweeping across broader areas of exposed alveolar bone after flap reflection, taking down uneven contours in fewer strokes than a narrower chisel would need. Less precision-focused than Fig. 1, less of a middle-ground compromise than Fig. 2. This one exists for volume.
Where it earns its keep:
Wide beveled edge clears more bone surface per pass
Cuts down total osseous recontouring time on multi-tooth surgical sites
Rated as a supplementary diagnostic instrument, useful for a broad tactile sweep across reshaped bone before suturing
Available in hollow handle Ø 8mm, hollow Ø 9.5mm, or solid Ø 6mm
Forged surgical stainless steel, holds an edge through repeated procedures
It’s not the chisel for delicate work around a root surface — that’s what the narrower sizes in the set are for. But once the fine detailing is finished and what’s left is broad, uneven ridge, NES-1876 gets the job done faster than reaching for the smaller blades over and over.
A practical addition for oral surgeons and periodontists handling larger osseous surgery cases where efficiency matters as much as finesse.
