Description

15/16
Gingivectomy procedures rarely call for just one blade shape, and the NES-1805 solves that by combining two of the most established gingivectomy knife patterns on a single handle. One end carries the Crane-Kaplan design, a narrow, pointed blade built to slip into interdental spaces and trim tissue where broader blades can’t reach cleanly. The other end is a Kirkland pattern, kidney-shaped and wider, made for contouring facial and lingual gingival margins in longer, sweeping strokes.
Pairing these two on one instrument saves the back-and-forth of reaching across the tray mid-procedure, which matters during gingivectomy and gingivoplasty work where tissue architecture changes fast and momentum counts. The 15/16 marking on the blade reflects its place in the broader Kirkland-Crane-Kaplan set, letting practices build out a full range of matched knives as their surgical caseload grows.
Available with a hollow handle at Ø 8mm, the instrument stays light in hand for the fine control gingival recontouring demands, without the added weight that can fatigue the wrist over a longer surgical appointment. Both blades hold a keen edge through repeated use, and the same edge geometry that trims tissue precisely also makes the tip useful as an incidental diagnostic instrument for checking pocket depth or tissue texture chairside.
Forged from surgical stainless steel and autoclave-rated, the NES-1805 suits periodontists and oral surgeons who perform gingivectomies regularly and want dependable, tested blade patterns rather than newer, unproven designs.
