Description

14 cm
The Doyen probe earns its place in general and gynecological surgery through sheer simplicity: a blunt, grooved instrument that guides a scalpel or ligature along a controlled path without risking damage to underlying structures. At 14cm, this is the shorter option in the Doyen range, suited to procedures where the working field sits close to the incision and a longer shaft would only get in the way.

The grooved channel running along the shaft is the defining feature — it lets surgeons direct a blade or suture with precision, keeping the cutting edge oriented exactly where intended rather than drifting into surrounding tissue. This makes it a staple for controlled dissection, particularly in situations where blind cutting carries real risk.

Machined from surgical stainless steel, the probe holds its shape and groove definition through repeated autoclave cycles, which matters because a worn or deformed groove undermines the entire purpose of the instrument. The tip is rounded and blunt by design, meant to explore and guide rather than pierce.

This probe belongs to our trocars, suction tubes and cannulas category, alongside related probes, directors, and other guided-access instruments manufactured to the same specification. Facilities building out general surgery trays often stock multiple probe lengths side by side to match different incision depths.

We supply hospitals, surgical centers, and distributors directly, with OEM and private label packaging available. Order 100 or more units for an automatic 10% discount, and orders over $1,500 ship free. Contact us for a formal quotation.
